Come surf with us this Saturday afternoon for our biweekly beginners' sesh at Waikiki Canoes. Here's a quick rundown of the essentials for anyone planning to join:
- Event: Bi-weekly Surf Session with SS Surf Club

- Location: Before surfing, we'll meet at Duke Statue beside the Waikiki police station at Waikiki Canoes, a popular south shore surf break.

- Requirements: Ability to swim. Fit enough to paddle about 850 ft (250m) over small breaking waves and through the impact zone multiple times.
- Equipment: Don't be a kook. Bring your own board or rent from Moku or Kahu nearby. Beginners are advised to use a 9’-12' ft foam surfboard/longboard.
- Duration: Approximately 2-3 hours of surfing.
- Post-Surf: Possible visit to Oahu Mexican Grill for pau hana, time permitting.
- Parking: Recommended at Waikiki Zoo parking lot due to challenging parking in Waikiki. It's a short walk from there.
- Host: Dævo (Contact via meetup or WhatsApp for directions or questions).
- If late: We meet at Duke Statue at 4 pm and paddle around 4:15. If you're late, paddle out from Lifeguard Shack 2D, and that'll be where we will paddle out to.

*This isn't a surf lesson. If you’re completely new to surfing and need guidance/instruction, we recommend getting a lesson from a local surf instructor like Mickey, Kahu or U-Surf (日本語を話す).
