Talking Circle: Holding Sacred Space - The Art of Active Listening

Details

In this month’s Talking Circle, we’ll explore the often-overlooked power of deep presence and active listening as sacred medicine. To hold space for another is not to fix or advise—but to witness, to hear, and to honor the soul of the other.

Drawing from Indigenous lifeways and trauma-informed mental health practices, this gathering invites us to explore what it truly means to be present with others—and with ourselves. Together, we’ll reclaim the practice of listening as a sacred act of healing, connection, and community care.

💠 Themes we’ll explore:
• The roots of sacred space in Indigenous and clinical traditions
• Core qualities of active listening and embodied presence
• Boundaries, humility, and attunement
• How to offer space that honors both silence and voice

✨ What to Expect:
• Opening grounding practice
• Teaching + somatic reflection
• Circle dialogue and sharing
• Gentle integration tools for daily life

Bring a journal, a water bottle, and anything that helps you feel grounded (a cushion, shawl, or sacred item). This offering is part of The Medicine Way and welcomes all who feel called to walk in deeper connection with self, spirit, and community.

This is a free/donation-based event hosted by: medicineway.org.
