The Road to Recovery: 25 years of Red-cockaded Woodpecker Management at Hal Scott Regional Preserve

Graham Williams is a Land Manager with the St. Johns River Water Management District, where he oversees 10 conservation areas totaling more than 84,000 acres across Orange, Seminole, Brevard, and Volusia counties. His work focuses on balancing public access and recreation with the long-term stewardship of natural resources. A key priority in his management approach is keeping fire on the landscape, and he regularly uses prescribed burning as an essential tool.
Graham brings a broad background in land conservation, with previous experience at the District in north Florida, the Florida Park Service, and the Seminole County Natural Lands Program. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biology from the University of Central Florida.
