You don't have to be there at the start since we will be at Dinky Dock the entire time.
This is a joint event hosted by the Central Florida Adventure Seekers.

Curious about kayaking? This is your chance to give it a try.

Maybe you've seen people kayaking and thought it looked like fun. Maybe you've thought about trying it but weren't sure where to start. Or maybe you've considered buying a kayak but wanted to get out on the water first and see if kayaking is really for you.
That's what this event is all about.
Central Florida Adventure Seekers is hosting Kayak Discovery Day: An Introduction to Kayaking at Dinky Dock Park on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park. Located on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes, it's a great place to get out on the water and discover what kayaking is all about.
We'll have lots of different kayaks available for people to explore and try. There will be different types, styles, and lengths, giving you a chance to see how different kayaks feel on the water.
Take a kayak out on the lake, paddle around, come back, and try another one. See what you like. Ask questions. Learn what makes one kayak different from another.
We'll also have different types of kayak gear and accessories available to check out, along with experienced paddlers who can answer questions and share what they've learned.
We'll also have instructors on hand to help you get comfortable on the water. They can show you basic paddling techniques, how to properly handle a kayak, and even what to do if you accidentally end up in the water, including how to recover and get back into your kayak. We'll also have people available to talk about kayaking equipment beyond the boat itself, including different types of paddles, personal flotation devices, roof racks, kayak carriers, and other gear that can make getting out on the water easier and more enjoyable.
This event is designed for both beginners and experienced paddlers, but it's especially for those who have been sitting on the fence about kayaking and just need an opportunity to get out there and give it a try.
This is simply a chance to learn, explore, get on the water, and find out if kayaking might be your next adventure.
Already own a kayak? Come out and try something different. Never been in one? Even better.
