About us
Meet others interested in meditation near you! Learn how to meditate or deepen your current meditation practice. Our weekly meetings are on a drop in basis and we have a really nice group of people attending regularly. Please check out our message board to see our meditation topics in previous weeks.
A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both “on the cushion” and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical, guided meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented.
Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome!
These group meetings are based out of Kadampa Meditation Center New York, located in Glen Spey, NY. For more information visit http://www.kadampanewyork.org
We hope to meet you soon!

Buddhist Meditation Class - Topic: The Art of Acceptance
Sparta Ambulance Building, 14 Sparta Ave N, Sparta Township, NJ, USApril & May Series – Freedom from Irritation and Annoyance
Our lives can be full of situations we would rather avoid and its easy to get into habits of irritation and annoyance. We cannot avoid all the challenging experiences of life, but we can all DEFINITELY change the way we think about them. Learning to stand up to habits of frustration and non-acceptance give us the space to live a happy, peaceful life even if things do not go according to plan.
Each class, we will look at some facet of understanding the source of our anger and irritation and how to move towards a happier way of living. There will be plenty of time to meditate and quiet our busy mind down so we can look at the situations of our life more clearly, and practical tools that we can immediately utilize day-to-day. We will leave this series understanding how to have a flexible, happy mind even in an often troubling world. Everyone welcome!
