Details

Eurythmy is an art form of human movement that expresses the underlying principles of speech and music through visible gestures and choreography. It makes speech and music visible. Gabrielle Armenier will offer a presentation that gives an overview of Eurythmy followed by a performance.

When we compare modern lifestyles to those of 50 years ago and more, we can easily see that human movement of all types has greatly diminished. We spend hours immobile in front of screens. Eurythmy, as developed by Rudolf Steiner, provides a healthy counterbalance to life in modern times.

Gabrielle will be here for Harvard Divinity School’s Program for the Evolution of Spirituality where she will offer a eurythmy workshop the following day. She is a performing eurythmist and the founder of the Eurythmy Agency. She collaborates with musicians, professors, scientists, and artists to develop and promote the movement art of Eurythmy. Recent event highlights include a month-long tour in the United States, as well as presentations at the University of Texas.
Recognized for her compelling intensity and lustrous tone, Franco-American pianist Brigitte Armenier is a graduate of the Conservatoire de Musique in Avignon, France. She performs internationally and often works in close collaboration with her daughter Gabrielle, with whom she performed at Carnegie Hall and at the Kaufman Music Center in New York City.
