    Distance: 6 miles

    Pace: 5-10 mph depending on terrain

    Terrain: Hill & Rolling hills, 818 ft. elevation gain

    Route Description: This ride is for gravel or mountain bikes. Ride up dirt road to Emerald Necklace trail which loops around the mountain. Terrain is dirt road, double track grassy areas, some rock and gravel, but overall enjoyable terrain with great views. Max grade 10-12%.

    Regroup Locations: Intersecting trails

    Eat: Bring snacks and water. Tailgate picnic at end of ride

  • Women’s Ride - The Palouse

    Harvester Restaraunt

    NAME: A PALOUSE RIDE: Spangle - Powers - Sherman Loop / 18 miles
    MEET TO CARPOOL: 9:05 AM Safeway parking lot on E. 57th and Regal. Park along 57TH where it meets Regal.
    MEET TO RIDE: 9:45 AM The Harvester Restaurant 410 W. First St. Spangle, WA (about 15 miles from Safeway)
    DIRECTIONS: Drive south on Hwy 195 until you get to Spangle at Cheney-Spangle Rd. Turn left. The Harvester Restaurant is the large bldg on the left with the lovely big parking lot. Park on the east side of the building away from the front entrance door.
    Restrooms: The Harvester has restrooms. I will tell them we'll be back for lunch and get permission to park there.
    PACE: 10-12 If you want to go faster, you’re on your own.
    TERRAIN: The first 6 miles are relatively flat along Old 195. When you turn right on Powers you are in the lovely Palouse rolling hills with manicured freshly planted fields. Total elevation for the ride is +458 gain and -452 drop. It can be windy. It’s a rolling-kind-of ride - a Palouse ride.
    REGROUP: At turns.

  • Monday Riverside State Park Out and Back

    Meet at 8:45 a.m. at Little Garden Cafe, 2901 W Northwest Blvd and North A St. Ride starts at 9:00 a.m. Ride to Long Lake via Aubrey White Parkway, Centennial Trail, including 2.2-mile extension of Centennial Trail to Long Lake/Lake Spokane. Restrooms at LGC, McLellan trailhead N of Seven Mile bridge, and at Long Lake (Nine Mile Recreation Area). Bring your own water and snacks.
    Terrain: Some hills to Hilly
    Distance: 26 miles
    Approximate time: 3 hours
    Pace: 12-14 on the level (typically faster on the outbound leg due to slight slope downstream and mild SW tailwind).Faster riders wait for all riders at McClellan trailhead regroup point.
    Regroup at McLellan Trailhead and Long Lake (snack stop)

    Enjoy this very scenic ride along the Spokane River on the Centennial Trail Our route begins at Sullivan Rd goes east to Harvard Road, back west 10 miles to Maringo Trailhead and east again to Sullivan Road
    Terrain is flat with a few short hills. Pace 10-12 Distance 20 miles

    Meeting Location: Spokane County Fire, District 10 Station 4, 1411 South Brooks Rd, Medical Lake. (Past FAFB on Highway 2).Route: Pace will be approx 10 - 12 mph

    Terrain: Rolling hills
    Eat: There will be a tailgate party after ride. Bring chairs and snacks to share if you like.

    Start: Meet at 8:45 for 9:00 AM rollout

    Meet: Riverside High School, 4120 E. Deer Park/Milan Rd. School in session, but slots on Eastmost parking strip should be available.

    Pace: 13-14 MPH on flats

    Distance: 36 miles

    Terrain: rolling with a few steep hills

    Regroup points will be announced as ride progresses

    Route description: West on DP/Milan for our first testy ascent to Perry, which will take us S to Denny/Chattaroy Rd. Westwood, a bit NE, is safer crossing of Hwy #2 and gets us to Milan Rd. N to merge w/Elk/Chat (Boondocks may be open in Elk), Elk Park should have a bathroom booth. N to Allen Rd. for the toughest climb, then Allen curves S to meet Bruce Rd. W on Oregon Rd. to Hwy #2, S to Eloika Lk Rd., but just a bit west is NW Branch Rd. providing entrance to the quiet scenic Findley loop before our exit to DP/Milan 'Eastbound' finish.

    Estimated duration: 3-4 Hours.

    Bring snacks, water, flat fix stuff and REQUIRED helmet.

    Regroup: E. Portland Ave and centinniel trail, Flora and Centinniel Trail, Saltese Uplands trailhead, top of hill S. Of Saltese wetlands, Barker Rd and 32nd, Saltese rd and Sullivan, both ends of AppleWay trail.

    Manito Park

    Spokane Bicycle Club Meet and Greet

    SBC will hold a “Meet and Greet” event on Sunday, June 11th at 12:30. The event will take place at the main shelter in Manito Park near the pedestrian traffic light. The park department does place a limit on the number of persons using the shelter to 50 persons.

    Come and meet other riders in the club and learn more about the details of our ride offering.

    Drinks, sandwhichs, and healthy snacks will be provided. RSVP is required,

    This is a special event for SBC Meetup members to learn more about the Spokane Bicycle Club.
