Team Thursday: Hauser/Newman Circuit from Mirabeau

Details

Start Time: Meet at 8:45 AM for 9:00 start

Meeting Location/Address: Mirabeau Centennial Trail Parking Lot 13501 E Mirabeau Pkwy, Spokane Valley, WA 99216

Distance: 50 miles

Pace: 12 – 14 on flats

Terrain: Mostly flat except for lots of ups and downs around Newman Lake; total elevation gain +/- 1950 ft.

Route Description: Roll out along Centennial Trail to Harvard Road and East River Rd. Turn north on Starr Rd for 6 miles then right on Hauser Lake Rd for the first lake loop and the start of some lovely scenery. Once Hauser is circumnavigated, we intersect Muzzy Road and begin the much lumpier circuit of Newman Lake. Depending on what you consider a hill, there are about 5 to 7 of them on the trip around the lake. Once we hit Honeymoon Bay our climbing is pretty much over. Newman Lake Drive reconnects with Starr where we begin the return to the start the way we came, completing the very enjoyable half-century.
