Bike Everywhere Vinegar Flats/Peaceful Valley/Riverfront Park

PLEASE READ ENTIRE RIDE DESCRIPTION
**Welcome to the SBC Bike Everywhere Choose Your Distance Group Ride. This is the short-distance route (9.3 or 13.6 miles) and is a bit slower No-Drop ride. Please note that there is one climb on the route from the Sandifer bridge up to the Centennial Trail and while not difficult for the experienced rider, it should not be considered easy. However, you can walk the bike up this hill if you like and we will regroup at the top. Participants should be able to maintain a steady pace (10-12 MPH) for a distance of 9 - miles (Slower pacing on hills is expected).
E-Bikes, Gravel Bikes and Flat Bar road bikes are all welcome.

Name: Vinegar Flats/Riverfront Park Ride
Start: 10:00 a.m.
Meet: OlmstedPark: N. Nettleton St and Summit Pkwy, Spokane
Pace: Steady pace in flat section usually between 10 to 12 MPH
Distance: 9.3 or 13.6 miles
Terrain: Centennial trail and lower traffic city streets. There is a short section of gravel in High Bridge Park.
Regroup: As necessary.
Route: We will start at Olmsted Park and move onto the Centennial Trail – down the switchbacks and over the Sandifur Bridge. We will go through High Bridge Park, then cross Latah Creek to the Vinegar Flats residential area. Return back through High Bridge Park and on to Redband Park in Peaceful Valley where we will take a group photo with a statue of a Redband Trout. Return over the Sandifer Bridge to the Centennial Trail and hang a left (west) to Cannon Park. Continue to Riverfront Park then return on the Centennial Trail to Olmstead Park. Total ride distance is 13.6 miles but there is an option to shorten it to 9.3 miles if you like.

Estimated duration of the ride 1-1/2 - 2 hours plus time for regrouping.
Eat: Meeting at My Fresh Basket a short distance from Olmsted Park after the ride.
