Thurs Night Avista Dam/Corbin Ditch History Tour/Ramble Ride

Details

Be prepared for a bit of a ramble this time as we ride to the Avista Dam in Falls Park in Post Falls, ID then get off or our bikes in several places and check out what is left of the Corbin Irrigation Ditch. Constructed starting in 1899 as part of a flour mill canal, the ditch originated at a head gate located on the Spokane River in the town of Post Falls, Idaho. From there it snaked through 34 miles at a constant grade and then on to 54 miles of lateral canals. There are still bits and pieces of it visible if you know where to look.
