Happy Spring! I write this on April 30 and, although it is a rather cool day, I think we can safely say that winter is over and done and Spring is on the way. My gardens have been topped up with some mushroom compost, and I'm excited to see how beautiful my flowers will be this year. I am always the optimist!
Speaking of optimism, every month I am excited to see how many dancers will come out to finally try the Modern Square Dancing that this group offers. So far, I have seen very few of the 875 members of this group. I think it's because you really have no idea what Modern Square Dancing is even like! Suffice it to say that of the many who did make it out to at least one dance, 99% of them leave saying it was a lot more fun than they expected. You just have to try it to know.

Discover Modern Square Dancing! Curious to know what makes it modern? Unlike traditional square dancing, modern square dancing features a wide variety of music, everything from Top 40 hits and classic rock to big band, jazz, country, and more. Instead of memorizing choreographed routines, dancers learn steps and follow the Caller, who combines them in fun, ever-changing sequences. It keeps you moving, thinking, and laughing, making it fantastic exercise for both body and brain. And to top it off, the Caller doesn’t just call the moves, they sing, too! Modern square dancing is social, energizing, and whole lot of fun. Come give it a try!
