Come join us for dinner at Speaks Clam Bar in Lakewood Ranch
At the turn of the 19th century, New York’s Little Italy saw the first of what would be many Italian clam bars. These clam bars all had one thing in common. It was all about the sauce. Guests would choose a sweet, medium or hot sauce to complement their Italian favorites.
Why were they called clam bars then? They all served clams too. On the half shell, oreganato, steamed and stuffed. Clams are not a popular menu item on Florida's gulf coast. So come join us for dinner for this rare treat. Or have some pasta!
