Annual Columbus Day Lunch 2023!!

Join us for our Annual Columbus Day Lunch!!! A fave breakfast spot - Uncle Charlie's Finer Diner on Route 18 in South Weymouth, serves breakfast all day! A perennial favorite on the south shore, serving only breakfast and/or lunch with seemingly never-ending coffee. Uncle Charlie's is a cash-only business and there is an ATM nearby maybe even on-site.

Uncle Charlie's can accommodate a larger group shortly after opening or early-to-mid afternoon. Since most of us like our Saturday mornings I decided on early afternoon. There will be no separate checks so please bring cash or your ATM card - no exceptions or you will be paying double event fees.

Meeting Place: Outside the front door!! There is no waiting area inside!! There is a small covered waiting area. Please wait for Event Organizer to be seated. We wait till at least half of attendees are present or a minute or two after the event time to be seated. We **will probably have to wait a few minutes** to be seated.

Event Host(s)/Organizer(s): Angela :) / No reservations, first-come-first-serve.

Min/Max: Minimum of 6 at least 72 hours prior. Max of 12.

Guests: None. This is a popular event and our group is free to join.

Event Fee: $2pp / 2023 Annual Members ~ Free // All small bills please (1s &5s) which is collected when we are paying the bill.

RSVP Deadline ~ Monday, October 9th @ 10am (Note: If your plans change please update your RSVP regardless of the time as we can now access this info from our phones. Any changes after this time may be considered a No-Show.)

Directions Overview: Located on Route 18NB near the intersection of Route 58 and entrance to Southfield near the South Weymouth Commuter Rail Station.

Parking: Free and ample parking in lot behind the restaurant.

~~~Please bring Cash Only!!! (There is an ATM out front and South Shore Bank at the intersection.) This has been our policy since Day 1 and the overwhelming majority of breakfast restaurants only accept cash. Additionally, please bring small bills ($1s and $5s please) to pay for the event fee. When in doubt, please make this easy and bring cash. (If you bring a CC this makes things more complicated and is unfair to the attendees and Event Host/Organizer as well as the restaurant. We will request you buy a GC from the restaurant to cover your entire portion of the bill which you will need to review with the Group Org/AO/EO or Event Orgs/Hosts.) We will check with our server/restaurant about separate checks in advance and then again upon arrival but make no promises or guarantees.~~~

SSDOMG advises: Everything has been lifted. However, we now have a new norm.

SSDOMG requests you not attend an event if/when:
>You have been exposed in the 10 days prior to the event and have not yet tested negative.
>You are experiencing any sickness up to 5 days prior to the event in which you have not been symptom-free for at least 48 hours.

This is for the safety of the attendees, employees, and our families.

Please update your RSVP prior to the RSVP Deadline or you may be considered a No-Show.
