Birthday & Summer Solstice Ice Cream Social Celebration

Join members and guests for an Ice Cream Social celebration!
It's not only Founder and Group Organizer Angela's Birthday but it's also the first weekend of Summer!
There are no fees for anyone to attend this event. Come on out for a truly fun social celebration.

Join us at Foley's Ice Cream Shoppe in South Braintree Square. Foley's is a locally owned throwback ice cream shoppe. Foley's is a vintage-style ice cream shop reminiscent of the 1940s, with a nod to life’s simple pleasures. We serve premium ice cream cones, sundaes and fountain drinks. Our waffle cones and baked goods are all homemade. Even the dog gets something special, our very own Lassie with a homemade dog biscuit on top. We have been proudly serving up sweet treats with a side of nostalgia since July 2018.

While we usually encourage you to arrive in the first 15 minutes, today you are encouraged to arrive within the first half-hour (30 mins). While the event officially runs for one hour, people may linger longer.
Notes:
1. There is no handicap access to the building. We will be outside if at all possible and either the staff or someone in attendance will be glad to help you with your ice cream.
2. The weekends are usually busy during the Summer. Kindly have patience. If you are bringing several people with you please be kind and allow someone flying solo who may have limited time to join in the celebration to go ahead of you. There is also limited seating inside.
3. This is an honor system event as Angela is inviting friends and meetup members to join her for this Ice Cream Social Celebration and will not be acting in an official capacity. Therefore, there is no Event Fee. If you do attend, kindly comment with feedback on the event page by June 25th. If you do not comment by then you may be marked as a No-Show. Please keep in mind I have no intention of collecting any Fees (Event or Annual).

(In case of inclement weather, staggered arrival times are welcome. I'll probably hang out till ~3:45pm so arriving anytime between 2:30-3:15 works.)

Meeting Place: By the front door or look for us. Please wait for Event Host/Organizer to be seated. We wait till the majority of attendees are present or a minute or two after the event time to be seated. We *may* have to wait a few minutes to be seated.

Min/Max: Minimum of 6 total, including 4 members, at least 48 hours prior. Max TBD (Between 15-None.) As this is my one planned birthday celebration I'm planning to host this whether 4 or 14 people are attending.
Guests: 1 per member, Ages 13+ welcome. (If weather is good and we can hang outside, go ahead and bring a 2nd guest if you so desire.)

Event Fee: NO FEES! // $10 to become an Annual Member. // All small bills please (1s &5s; 10s for AMs). Note: If you would like to become a 2025 AM at today's event, please bring a $10 bill and include a note with your name and town as it appears on meetup so I can take care of that expeditiously.

RSVP Deadline ~ 2 hours prior ~ Sat 6/21 @ 12:30pm (Note: If your plans change please update your RSVP regardless of the time as we can now access this info from our phones. Any changes after this time may be considered a No-Show.)

Directions Overview:
Located ~2 miles from Exit 40 (formerly 17) on Route 3 and 4ish miles from Exit 6 on Route 93, on the southern end of South Braintree Square, next to Braintree Lumber.

Parking: Free and (usually) ample on-street parking.

~~~Please bring Cash Only!!! As everyone is paying their own way you can pay via CC or cash, altho cash is our group's policy. (All fees must be paid in cash, of which there are none today. Most Ice Cream places accept credit cards, however, there may be a CC charge minimum of $10 or $15, depending on the venue. Please keep in mind CC fees have an impact on the business' bottom line.).~~~

**Health Guidelines**

SSDOMG requests you not attend an event if/when:
>You have been exposed to covid-19 in the 10 days prior to the event and have not yet tested negative.
>You are experiencing any sickness up to 5 days prior to the event in which you have not been symptom-free for at least 48 hours, especially if it's contagious.

This is for the safety of the attendees, employees, and our families.

Please update your RSVP, preferably prior to the RSVP Deadline or you may be considered a No-Show. We do have a No-Show Policy which is when you are a Yes/Going RSVP at the RSVP Deadline but do not attend the event.
