SSDOMG 19th Anniversary Meal Celebration & Post-Meal Walk if You Want

Come one, come all!! Join fellow members of the South Shore Dining Out Meetup Group for a Brunch/Lunch to celebrate 19 years and welcome in our 20th year as an active meetup group. All members of the SSDOMG are welcome and encouraged to join us.

This is a favorite and fun event for many members as there's usually a surprise to be had, either in terms of a member we haven't seen in awhile, new members joining us (usually two-four), being able to become an Annual Member for the following calendar year (as it technically doesn't open till November), and sometimes an event announcement that is not yet on the calendar, to name a few we have enjoyed over the years.

We will be in the 2nd floor 'function room' at Martin's in Abington. There are 6 steps and no elevator. The restrooms are also on this level. You know I do my best to accommodate and there are plenty of other venues that do where you can join us.

While we will be receiving separate checks, there is an outside chance that may not be possible and they may do checks by table. Please consider bringing cash for ease of paying your bill. Cash only for event/annual fees.

***Walk If You Want***
We will be <1/2 mi from the Abington-Rockland Rail Trail. For those who want to take a leisurely 25-45 minute walk with us, you are welcome to do so. Some of us will walk closer to 45 minutes while some will walk closer to 25 minutes. This will include a brief re-group and time for a group convo. We will figure it out before we start our walk. Please bring your sneakers to change into after our Meal.
In case of inclement weather, we will find a place nearby, such as a coffee shop, to hang out for 30-45 minutes to continue to socialize.

Meeting Place: By the front door. Please wait for Event Host/Organizer to be seated. If you will be arriving more than 15 minutes after our start time please post a comment below at least 10 minutes prior to the event with your ETA. Please note you are kindly asked to arrive by 12pm/Noon as we will start ordering shortly after Noon. Introductions will be made after everyone has ordered.

Min/Max: Minimum of 10 total, including 6 members, at least 5 days prior (by 5pm on Mon 9/29). Max of 25. (We need at least a dozen to guarantee the room.)
Guests: None at this time. If we have space for at least 5 more people about 10 days prior we will then open up RSVPs to Guests. (If you might bring a Guest please be sure to RSVP Yes/Going for yourself at least. Then once we open it up to Guests you can add them in.) We want to give our group members first priority and opportunity to attend.

Event Fee: FREE as promised!!! / 2025 Annual Members ~ Free / $6 to become an Annual Member (mid-yr Aug/Sept/Oct). // (Note: Guests will be determined if/when we open the event up. Please encourage your potential guest to join the group.) // All small bills please (1s &5s; 10s for AMs), which is collected when we are paying the bill.
***Please consider becoming a 2025 and 2026 Annual Member at today's event. (While the Event Fee is waived today, if you did become a 2025 AM you would have already 'paid' for your first event.) Help us pay for a full year with meetup.com by filling the coffers. It renews on Oct 1st and will give us a slight discount overall. Annual Members have a Quarterly Annual Members Only (AMO) event, are allowed to bring Guests for a waived fee to 2-4 events (specifically noted), and help shape some of our events.***

RSVP Deadline ~ 2.5 hours prior ~ Sat 10/4 @ 9am (Note: If your plans change please update your RSVP regardless of the time as we can now access this info from our phones. Any changes after this time may be considered a No-Show.)

***RSVPs will close in the system by 10:45am. (The Max will be adjusted at the RSVP Deadline to allow someone to join last-minute if someone cancels.) No new RSVPs will be allowed after that time. You *must* RSVP in order to attend. No drop-ins please.***

Directions Overview: Located in Abington Center, right off Routes 139 and 58.

Parking: Free and ample on-street and in neighboring lots. Please do not park in any private lots.

~~~Please bring Cash Only!!! (The only exception is if it's clearly stated in the Event Description that there will be separate checks as you can then pay with your credit/debit card.) If you choose to bring/buy/use a GC from/for this restaurant, please bring proof of funds and no more than $20 more than the cost of your portion of the bill. Please bring small bills ($1s or $5s please) to pay for the event fee. When in doubt, please make this easy and bring cash. We will check with our server/restaurant about separate checks in advance and then again upon arrival but make no promises or guarantees.~~~

**Health Guidelines**

SSDOMG requests you not attend an event if/when:
>You have been exposed to covid-19 in the 10 days prior to the event and have not yet tested negative.
>You are experiencing any sickness up to 5 days prior to the event in which you have not been symptom-free for at least 48 hours, especially if it's contagious.

This is for the safety of the attendees, employees, and our families.

Please update your RSVP, preferably prior to the RSVP Deadline or you may be considered a No-Show. We do have a No-Show Policy which is when you are a Yes/Going RSVP at the RSVP Deadline but do not attend the event.
