What we’re about

If the words ‘junk journaling’, ‘washi tapes’, ‘sticker flakes’, ‘ephemera’, ‘Tomoe River S paper’, ‘The Pen Addict’, and ‘Stationery Café’ mean anything to you, then please read on! I am looking to set up a local Hertfordshire-based stationery meet up to share my humble enthusiasm with like-minded new friends!
WHY DO THIS? I am particularly inspired by the proliferation of stationery / journal clubs that occur in Asia and the USA and believe that there is no reason why we could not attempt to re-create our own as well. I am hopeful that a few of us might be able to get together on a regular basis to explore the rabbit hole of analogue tools, creativity, journalling and planning as fellow hobbyists (actual creative professionals with lots of patience would be warmly welcomed of course!), make new memories and share screen-free moments away from our busy and full-on daily lives. These meet-ups could also be an incredibly fun way to share our ideas and not to mention our stationery items with one another if one so wished. Granted, it is very easy to get into the stationery hobby online and there are innumerable resources such as blogs, podcasts, YouTube videos and Reddit threads readily available, but I do miss the face-to-face sharing IRL in a low-key, no-fuss, no-obligation environment (that does not involve only meeting vendors at pen shows or browsing the Cult Pens website, you know what I’m talking about!).
WHERE AND WHEN TO MEET? If this sounds like something you would be keen to get involved in, please join the group! I am in the St Albans (Hertfordshire) area, and have identified the local St Albans Museum and Gallery courtroom café as an ideal venue we could use for up to a couple of hours one Saturday morning a month perhaps (or more frequently, depending on how the first few sessions go). Zoom could also work if the evenings are more suitable.
Thank you for reading, Jasmin
