While we are primarily focused on events for singles to meet each other, over time we have had people become couples. Or married people attending our educational events. Everyone is welcome as long as you are honest with your relationship status.

Ready for a beautiful Florida paddle, some wildlife and a good workout? Join us for the Kings Landing Shuttle Run, an 8.5-mile self-guided downstream paddle from Kings Landing to Wekiva Island.
🌿 THE PADDLE
We’ll launch at Kings Landing and begin with approximately 2 miles through the famous Emerald Cut—one of the most beautiful stretches of water in Central Florida. This section is known for its crystal-clear, emerald-colored water, lush vegetation, sandy bottom and incredible scenery.After the Emerald Cut, we’ll continue downstream as the creek gradually becomes broader, wider and more natural and remote. We’ll paddle through the Rock Springs Run/Wekiva river system and alongside the beautiful wilderness surrounding Wekiwa Springs State Park.
This part of the trip feels very different from the Emerald Cut. The water gradually changes from crystal clear to the darker, tannic water characteristic of Florida’s natural rivers. Expect cypress trees, palms, wetlands and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife.🐢 WILDLIFE
This area is home to an incredible variety of Florida wildlife. We may see:
• Turtles
• Fish
• Herons and other wading birds
Otters
• Ospreys and other birds of prey
• Deer and other wildlife along the shoreline
• And yes… alligators! 🐊Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but Kings Landing notes that paddlers are likely to encounter an abundance of wildlife along this route.
🏁 THE FINISH
After approximately 8.5 miles, we’ll finish at Wekiva Island, where the Kings Landing shuttle-run dock is located. It’s a great destination after several hours on the water and a chance to relax after the paddle. There are food trucks, music and a fun vibe!!### 🚣 Trip Details

Type: Self-guided, downstream shuttle run
Difficulty: Moderate — you should be comfortable paddling for several hours

Kayaks and SUPs are welcome for our Meetup. If bringing your own equipment, please make sure you have everything you need for an 8.5-mile paddle, including PFD, paddle, water, sun protection, and any required safety equipment.💪 PLEASE KNOW BEFORE SIGNING UP
This is not a short recreational float. Eight and a half miles is a legitimate paddle and provides a good workout! Please be comfortable controlling your kayak/SUP and paddling for an extended period.
Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, hat/sunglasses, snacks, and clothing that can get wet. A dry bag for your phone and personal items is highly recommended.🐊 We will be paddling in natural Florida waterways, so wildlife—including alligators—is part of the environment. Give all wildlife plenty of space and never approach or feed animals. And NO SWIMMING!!

Please watch the Meetup page for updates as we get closer to paddle day. The trip may be changed, postponed or canceled if weather or water conditions make the paddle unsafe or unpleasant.
This should be an absolutely beautiful paddle—starting in the crystal-clear waters of the Emerald Cut, transitioning into wild Florida river scenery and finishing 8.5 miles later at Wekiva Island.
