Hello! My name is Alex. I started this page on March 31, 2019 because I desired more community with Catholic young adults and was frustrated about the lack of young adult ministry in the Sioux Falls area. Instead of just complaining about it, I decided to do something. Did I want to start a young adult ministry? No, but I knew someone had to do something. Do I know anything about running a young adult ministry? No, but I don’t think I have to know what I am doing. What I need to know is what the young adult community in Sioux Falls needs. So, if you have an idea for something we should do, let me know.
So, why Saint Eugène de Mazenod? Well, when Saint Eugène de Mazenod was ordained, he desired to serve those whom he felt the Church had neglected. When I was thinking about why I was starting a young adult ministry, I thought about St. Eugène’s desire to serve those whose spiritual needs were not being met. If St. Eugène saw a need, he tried to meet that need. His attitude towards serving the Church is the attitude I am bringing to young adult ministry.
