What we’re about

St. Pete Weird Walks

What’s a weird walk?

Light walking, chatting, taking photos, and exploring new areas in the city to spark conversation and ideas. Ideal for remote workers or anyone in the community just looking to connect and get weird :)

A weird walk is just like a regular walk but instead of paying attention to distance and calories burned, the goal of the walk is to explore and notice odd and unique things, stopping to take photos and talk about the weird things you see and allowing those conversations to build connections and inspire ideas to grow. This is a walk for the mind more than it’s a walk for the body.

Why start a group for weird walks?

I’ve lived in the Old Northeast for 6 years and I walk almost everyday. I take a different route each time and I love just strolling with others because I think it’s the best way to have conversations and meet people!

I often invite my friends on these weird walks and we find ourselves exploring different parts of the city or finding restaurants and hidden gems that we wouldn’t have otherwise stumbled upon and everyone I introduce these walks to seems to love them so I would like to share this with a larger group.

I’ve been looking for an opportunity to meet more people but I find that having great conversations and getting to know people at dinner and drinking meet-ups can be difficult and chaotic so why not just have a standing meet up where we walk and stroll!

It’s a great way to get to know the city and the people who live here and to possibly make valuable connections. Things might get weird, but i think it’ll be fun.

What to expect:
-Moderately paced walk
-scheduled for 2 hours but join or leave when you want
-Discussions about spirituality, business, and life
-Get to know new local cool people
-Find some new spots in the city that you didn’t know about
-if it’s fun and we get a good group together, we could potentially do new activities that incorporate the mind and body in this way
