SVCG SUNS Thursday Night Gravel Ride

WEEKLY RIDE ON THURSDAY NIGHTS FOR THE SVCG FAITHFUL! - Spin Until Next Summer (SUNS)

My once a year ride up Rowena (and more if you want) on the rocky Rowena Trail. It is a challenge, but you won't catch any heat if you walk some parts. After Rowena, we head down County Road 83 to Sunshine Canyon Road, then up to Gold Hill. From Gold Hill we head down Lick Skillet Road to Left Hand Canyon Road. For the brave, we could go back up Lick Skillet to test our skill. We head back to Buckingham on Left Hand.

This will be the last SUNS ride of the year. After this ride, we will move to Niwot starts, for the most part, as we will attend the Niwot Rock and Rails free concert after our rides.

SVCG Thursday Night Rides - Spin Until Next Summer (SUNS)
SVCG has added scheduled rides on Thursday extending beyond the normal season! We plan to *Spin Until Next Summer* (SUNS), riding on every Thursday when weather and conditions allow. We will continue with gravel rides, but once the Rock n' Rails concert series starts, we will have gravel rides and road rides. E-Bikes and Mountain Bikes are welcome. If it looks muddy, we may schedule a road ride.

Charge up your lights!! And bring them with you, just in case.

The SUNS rides will start at several different locations. The following are the common starting locations for SUNS:

• Bearded Brewer, Airport and Clover Basin. Longmont
• Westbound & Down Brewery, 95th and Arapahoe, Lafayette
• Niwot High School parking lot east of the football field - Niwot
• Fritz Family Brewing, 6778 N 79th St, Niwot
• Niwot Whistle Stop Park - Niwot
• Avery Brewing, 4910 Nautilus Court North, Boulder
• Rayback Collective - 2775 Valmont Rd., Boulder
• Erie Community Center/Park - 450 Powers St., Erie
• Buckingham Park, Left Hand Canyon and Old Stage, Boulder

General SVCG Ride Information
NOTE: If there is a small group we will leave the start as a group, and meet up along the route, riding together the entire route. Large groups will follow the rules below.
WHAT: The Club rides are "NO DROP" (except for the A group), we will re-group at the top of hills, and at any turns where necessary

GROUP A: This group will be at a faster pace (16.5 mph average on gravel) NO-STOP
GROUP B: This group's pace will depend of on who's riding, but is generally around a 13.5 mph average. NO-DROP

WHO: This is a mostly gravel/road ride for people who have experience with group rides, singletrack, and road traffic. Please only sign up if you are confident you can complete the described ride/route (distance, pace, etc.).
RIDE NOTES: Rides roll out no more than 5 minutes after advertised start time, please arrive early & be ready to roll on time.

• We are vehicles on the road so it is imperative we follow the traffic laws. Failing to do so can lead to serious injury, possibly death.
• Come prepared for mechanical breakdowns (bring spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool).
• Be sure to bring enough water for the length of the ride. As a general rule, one bottle of water is good for 1 hour of riding (8 oz per 20 mins of ride time).
