What we’re about

PLEASE READ THE PART BELOW "Who can(not) tour (yet)?"

Hey there,

ever thought about experiencing Berlin on water? Berlin is one of the greatest city for stand-up-paddlers and kayaking. There are so many options for touring on lakes and rivers. While the city is cramped with people in summer we will own our space on the water. It doesn't matter if you are living in Berlin or visiting. I am happy to show traveling stand-up-paddlers around and people who like to have a chill ride in a kayak!

Because I didn't find yet a Berlin paddling-group in other languages than German I wanted to open up the possibility to get together multilingual. English is a good starting point I guess but everyone and every language is welcomed. This of course includes that we treat each other equally in the group. Meaning sexist, racist, ageist, homophobic comments and behavior etc. is a no-go.

Who can tour?

In general: What is neccessary for your safety is that you can swim! I cannot take the risk of endangering participants who fall of the board.

  • Beginners: You know how to balance on a stand-up-paddle. Means it is not your first time on a SUP + of course you can swim. The tours will be ca. 5-10 km long depending on the general level of the group. We will start close to a rental place where you can rent your boards for up to 3 hours.
  • Advanced: You already toured with a SUP and you are fit to paddle more than 10 km. For these tours you should organize a SUP for the whole day because we might be out there for a while ...

Who cannot tour yet?

  • Absolute beginners: If you never stood on a board it would need some time to get you adjusted. At least up to an hour and that wouldn't be fair to the other participants. You can join this meet-up-group of course and get in touch with me directly but should be a little bit patient. I am planning to get my SUP-instructor certificate later this year, after that I am officially allowed to teach absolute beginners. If you want to know where you can learn to SUP right away I am happy to give you information.

Let's gather here and with rising water temperatures around April/May I would start posting tours for beginners and advanced.
