Dear all,

We will do the next stargazing trip to Melk.

Meeting point: 18:45 at Westbahnhof in front of Anker.
Please show up on time. We will use this time to get to know each other and make sure everyone is comfortable with the group.

Departure: CJX5 from Westbahnhof, departing at 19:18.
Return: CJX5 from Melk Bahnhof, departing at 23:40.
Tickets: ~45 Euros round-trip (without Vorteilscard).

What to expect: We will arrive in Melk ~20:20, walk for ~1 hour away from the urban area, cross the Danube, and find a good spot. Depending on conditions and preferences, plans may get updated on the spot. If the weather is on our side, we may see the Milky Way and a moonrise.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  1. Please pack more layers than you think would be necessary.
  2. A red-light headlight is highly recommended for navigation in the dark to protect our night vision.
  3. Insect repellent spray.
  4. A blanket to make yourself comfortable.

SAFETY AND LOGISTICS:
I will take a group picture before boarding the train, and do location sharing for the entire time that we are outdoors. A link to the WhatsApp group will be shared with the attending members only on the day of the trip.

Please note that I am not a tour guide and you are responsible for your own safety and well-being during the trip.

Since stargazing is highly weather-dependent, the trip may be canceled up to 4 hours before departure, so please check then for final confirmation.

If you are interested in an Einfach-Raus ticket, please let me know, and then we can coordinate a group purchase.
Otherwise, you are responsible for getting your own tickets.
