AWS DeepLens: A New Way to Learn Machine Learning
AWS DeepLens is not a video camera...it's the world's first deep learning enabled developer kit. AWS DeepLens helps put deep learning in the hands of developers, literally, with a fully programmable video camera, tutorials, code, and pre-trained models designed to expand deep learning skills.
In this presentation, we will cover Machine Learning overview, DeepLens overview, building & training models in sagemaker, and extending a project. We will discuss exciting projects you can do with a DeepLens, including object detection, face detection, animal distinction and audience response tracking with AWS. Even more exciting, we'll talk about how you can build custom deep learning models in the cloud using Amazon SageMaker.
Level: Intermediate (some developer knowledge is recommended)
Jonathan Best, Cloud Solution Architect at TriNimbus Technologies, Inc.
Jonathan Best has spent his career mostly working on the Operations side of IT with a focus on Active Directory, monitoring and automation. Over his career, Jonathan has worked for various sizes of organization, from the small team non-profit to the multinational midstream oil and gas firm. At each position he has been able to work on implementing automatic remediation into his monitoring solutions, and working on Active Directory to allow organizations to grow organically and through acquisitions. One of his favourite sayings is that he gets hired to automate a person out of their job every year, and sometimes he does it to himself. Taking his expertise in Windows infrastructure into AWS, Jonathan has quickly become one of Trinimbus’ Windows experts.
