Netflix's Product Strategy with Gibson Biddle (Former VP Product @ Netflix)

Details
Product Edmonton is stoked to present Gibson Biddle, the former VP Product of Netflix, as he digs into Netflix + Product Strategy. 🔥
This talk introduces three strategy frameworks to enable product leaders to define their product strategy. Gib will bring all three frameworks to life, as he presents a mock 2021 product strategy for Netflix. He then shows how strategy influences day-to-day decision-making through two modern Netflix case studies, including a special COVID-19 question: Should the company launch “Netflix Party” to enable worldwide members to engage in shared viewing experiences?
About the speaker:
Gibson Biddle joined Netflix as VP of Product in 2005. In 2010 he became the Chief Product Officer of Chegg, a textbook rental and homework help startup that went public in 2014. Today he’s an adviser, speaker, and guest lecturer at both Stanford and INSEAD.
We will be teaming up with Startup TNT, so be sure to join us afterwards on their Discord server for the after party and a chance to digest the presentation: https://discord.com/invite/cAUqerT
¯_(ツ)_/¯ Product Edmonton FAQ👇
Q: When do you meet and what do you do?
A: Product Edmonton formats will iterate and evolve as needed, and the constant will be a regular bi-monthly Meet Up (with killer presentations) at Startup Edmonton on the first Monday of every second month. On top of that, there will also be other events like...
- workshops and tutorials 🎓
- panel discussions and topic-specific deepdives 🔬
- collaborations with other like-minded meetups and organizations 🤗
- some good, old-fashioned nerding out over a 🍺or two
Q: Who should go to this? Is this just for Product Managers?
A: Our name is specifically open-ended, due to the wide number of disciplines that this all relates to. Whether you are a product leader, product manager, designer, developer, strategist, business analyst, project manager, UX enthusiast, account manager, content strategist, marketer, data person, etc., we all have things to both offer and learn. 👍
Q: I'm thinking of getting into Product but I have no experience. Am I welcome at this event.
A: Yes, you are especially welcome here.🏅
Q: Do you have a Slack Channel for Product-related/Product Manager chatting, job postings, favourite articles, advice, etc.? A: Of course we do, and we would be stoked if you join it:
