The YEG Javascript Meetup, ExchangeJS is a gathering of Javascript minded folks, who want to discuss and further their exploration of this language that underpins the internet. We're being supported actively (and are supporting in turn) the YEG Ruby meetup, and the Dev Edmonton Society from an organizational and logistical perspective. You can find out more at https://devedmonton.com/ where you can find links to the Dev Edmonton slack, where most of our organization happens. If you're interested in a chat, doing a talk, or learning more about Javascript, check out the link above and get onto the Slack!
--------------------------
The talks for this month are:
Working with Cloudflare Pages, Workers, and Durable Objects by Alex Wong (He/Him)
This talk outlines my experience on building a simple web application using the Cloudflare Full Stack offering. We rely on Cloudflare pages to serve our static site, Cloudflare workers to handle serverless API calls, and
Cloudflare workers Durable Objects to handle cross-worker consistency and persistent websocket coordination. Cloudflare Durable Objects are no longer beta and Generally Available as of November 15, 2021. Come if you're interested in getting a teaser of what life on the bleeding edge (network) is like.
Javascript & Ruby Q&A Panel
Come ask our panelists your burning Ruby and JS questions!
--------------------------
The meetup is sponsored by our community champions Jobber, Dotdash and Punchcard, and produced each month by the Edmonton JavaScript community. With COVID, we don't have as much need for sponsors at the moment, but we're always looking for support. If you want to support the Javascript and Ruby communities in specific, or devs in general, get in touch!
