We are excited to have City of Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson attend our meetup this month, we are starting at 6:15 to maximize our time with him. Join us and hear the Mayor's thoughts on the civic tech community and how we fit into Edmonton's innovation ecosystem.

We are the city and region's citizen-led digital engagement group. Developers, civic employees, data enthusiasts, students, professionals and general engaged Edmontonians are all welcome.

Code for Canada is partnering with BetaCityYEG to host an Open House in Edmonton for this meetup. The Open House include a short presentation from Code for Canada, followed by informal networking. Light snacks will be served.

Code for Canada is a national nonprofit that connects government innovators with the tech and design community to improve life for Canadians.

"We believe the best organizations work in the open, and our regular Open Houses are an opportunity for the public to meet our team, learn more about our programs and find out how to get involved in Canada's growing civic tech movement."

It’s an opportunity to get to know Code for Canada staff and learn about our exciting 2018 Fellowship, which embeds web developers, UX designers and product managers into government departments to work on things that matter.

Check out our site (http://www.betacity.ca). It's got previous community projects and future ideas.
