Anthony Chabot Loop - 8.6mi, 1585ft

Hikers only, no dogs please.
DESCRIPTION: Hike through Anthony Chabot Regional Park. Enjoy lunch overlooking Lake Chabot. This will be a 8.6 mile lollipop route, with a total cumulative ascent of 1,585 feet. Current weather forecasts suggest mostly sunny skies, 63 to 76 degrees with an 8MPH breeze. There are no guarantees for a clear day, but I think the odds are on our side. Please check your favorite weather site for more details and updates prior to hike. Water is available at trailhead but not along hiker route. There are flush toilets at the trailhead and pit toilets at lunch location.

DISTANCE: This hike is rated somewhat strenuous hike with approximately ~8.6 miles and cumulative ascent of ~1,585ft. Average moving speed will be 2.5 to 2.8 MPH. Not suggested for hikers hiking less the 15miles/week. NOT A BEGINNERS HIKE.

MEET: 9:00AM at Redwood Canyon Golf Course. There are no parking fees. We will gather there at the Brandon Trailhead.

DIRECTIONS: Parking is free.
Please be prepared with at least two liters of water, snacks, layered clothing, hiking boots/shoes, sun screen and hat. Pack a lunch. If you normally use trekking poles, you may wish to bring them along.
