January Meetup - Audio Surveillance (Including Lab)

The cost for this event is only if you choose to do the lab, and is in exchange for the hardware (15 kits should be available, first come first served). We will have a short talk on audio surveillance, coupled with a lab where we will build a laser mic to detect audio at a distance that could not otherwise be heard (i.e. behind glass or something similar). If all goes well we will be able to test multiple scenarios (general theory, internal to room, external to room). This lab is meant to be a proof of concept and we can discuss ways in which it could be expanded.

In order to test the lab you will need to be able to plug in a microphone and record - so please bring a laptop. If you are looking for a recording program, I suggest Audacity (be careful to not install adware that may be injected by sourceforge).
