Fiasco / What Could Go Wrong / Monroeville RPG Day
Details
A small-time plan. Big ambitions. Almost no impulse control.
What Could Go Wrong is a GM-less storytelling game running on Fiasco — built in the spirit of films where ordinary people with bad plans make everything worse.
Think Coen Brothers energy: nobody involved is as clever as they think they are.
You and the table will collectively choose a setting, then use a dice draft to generate the people, relationships, and complications that define your story. From there, you'll build characters with tangled — possibly dangerous — connections to one another. No combat system, no dice-based skill checks: just scenes, decisions, and consequences the table creates together, building toward a finishing montage where everything comes apart.
This is mature content: expect intense character conflict, dark comedy, and dramatic stakes that can turn violent.
What Could Go Wrong plays best when everyone at the table is on board with where the story goes.
- Fully collaborative, no traditional GM
- Dice-drafted setup determines your story's elements
- Character relationships and motives interlock by design
- Roughly two hours, no combat mechanics
- No experience needed — character creation happens together at the table, start to finish.
