About us
Being a step mom or “Bonus Mom” as I like to call it is the most unique role a family member can have. You do and are everything a biological mom does and is, but you are somehow “unofficial.” All the love, joy, pain, skill, improvising, caring, soothing, supporting, disciplining that motherhood entails is in your capable hands, yet both the child and society, no matter how much they try never can recognize you in the way you deserve. It’s at times complex and murky waters to navigate, and this group is a space to call our own, where we relate and celebrate each other in a way that no one else can.

- Respect one another. Speak with kindness and consideration at all times.
- No judgment. This is a space for sharing, not criticism.
- No harsh, discriminatory, or hateful language. Such language will not be tolerated.
- Be open and supportive. Allow others to speak without interruption.
- Listen to understand. Offer responses like “I hear you” rather than immediately giving advice.
- Share from your own experience. If you feel comfortable, speak from your personal perspective rather than telling others what they should do.
- Share only what feels safe. You are never required to answer a question or disclose more than you wish.
