STG Social Hikes

4 mi, 700’ gain. the gorge has epic sweeping vistas where the harsh desert and the erosive power of water merge. I’ve recently heard that there has been development on this teail, so im excited to see how ir has changed. from previous hikes there were a couple of spots we need scramble up a hillside. nothing too steep. just a fun adventure in this beautiful desert canyon.

Tempi po’op-Entipsi from Tukupetsi Trailhead.

8 miles, 700’ gain.
this will be the maiden voyage for this loop. as such the miles and elevation might be inaccurate but this is my best guess. we will start by dropping to the river and following the entipsi trail all the way to anasazi ridge, then up the ridge and follow the rim on tempi po’op all the way back to the cars. i’m excited to do this loop and calculate exactly what the numbers are. hopefully the afternoon will be warm enough to make this a very pleasant hike. Bring plenty of water and a snack for a break halfway through.

4.3 miles, 550’ elevation. loop/lollipop with scenic views. nice hike with a few ups and downs, a great section where we hike along the rim of a canyon over the santa clara creek. this trail is designated for hiking (no bikes) and there are a couple others very nearby that are quite popular with bikes. this is one of several great trails from this TH.
