today, we will hike only the new trail that climbs the shorter hill to the new flag pole and admire the views before heading back to the cars.

3 miles, 460 ft. elevation gain.

This is one of my favorite hikes, holding a place in my heart because it was one of the first I did when I started hiking regularly. A beautiful little arch, incredible views from paradise rim, the sandstone we all know and love. starting from the gap, rather than chuckwalla, means we end on a descent, skip the fee parking area, and still hit all the beautiful features this loop offers.

I expect this hike will take just under 2 hours to complete. The featured photo is from a previous group hike at this location.

amazing 360• views from the top of the ridge. fun trail to explore. we zig zag up the ridge to the radio towers on top, then circle around, down the other side, complete the loop to the cars. Its really a great trail.
