5 mi, 300’ gain.
Join us for a great hike, loop, to see Fort Pearce and then on to the famous Red Man pictograph just under the ridge line. we will see a few petroglyphs right assy, then follow the spring / wash downstrem to get to the Red Man. Last time we had to wade through the tamaracks for a minute. Then climb the hill to view It up close, back down the same track, then across the wash to view more petroglyphs and some neat “bedrock mortars / cooking holes.” Then we will make our way back to the parking lot.
This hike is pretty much all exposed, so bring water and sunscreen, and it will include one steep ascent to see the pictograph on a primitive trail.
The road to Fort Pearce is county-maintained graded gravel, and a 4-wheel drive vehicle is NOT needed, but we can carpool to the Fort Pearce parking lot for those that prefer.
I will wait until five minutes after, if not everyone is present. after that you will need to catch up. come enjoy some exercise and good conversation in the morning!
