White Dome trailhead

2 miles, 200’ gain. we will do the highland loop this time.

white dome nature preserve was created to protect populations of the dwarf bear poppy wildflower. formerly called the bearclaw poppy. this delicate little bit of beauty in the desert blooms each spring and adds a lovely touch of white. this is not the time of year for the bloom, but this trail offers excellent examples of the cryptobiotic soil that we see so often in our desert and some lovely vistas south of town.

I will wait until five minutes after, if not everyone is present. After that you will need to catch up. All times listed are utah time, MDT. Sorry, but STG social hikes are not dog friendly. Come enjoy some exercise and good conversation on the trail!
