My very first Overnight Hike 🏕

If you ever wanted to go on an overnight hike but never dared to, this is for you! I'm asking specifically beginners to join this event. We will take us somewhere south of Grödinge, hike some 12 km (~4 hours of walking) on Sörmlandsleden until we reach Stora Träsket where we will find a fine shelter by a lake, spend the night and maybe even take a swim if weather allows. On the next morning we will continue another 10 km on Sörmlandsleden until we reach Skanssundet from where a bus will take us back home.
This hike is for when you feel insecure about sleeping in the great outdoors, want company or just have a ton of questions that you never dared to asked. We can talk about anything from what to bring, how to pack your backpack, what to eat or how to pitch a tent.
A minimalist packlist:
- Backpack or the likes
- Sleeping pad
- Sleeping bag
- Proper shoes
- Rain gear (depending on forecast)
- Warm insulation layer (read: jacket) for the evening
- Optional swim wear, towel
- Optional tent or tarp, you're encouraged to share a tent with someone, alternatively sleep in the shelter (be sure to bring bug protection in that case)
- Food: 2 x lunch or snacks during the day, 1 x breakfast, 1 x dinner
- If you want to eat warm (not necessary) bring a pot and a stove (or share with someone) and a spoon
- 1l of water (there is water on the way, make sure you can refill your bottle)
- First Aid Kit: band aid, blister plaster, pain killers, antihystamine (you know if you need or not), Immodium, alcohol wipes, tape (chafing!), tweezers (ticks!)
- Optional mosquito repellant
- Optional sunscreen
- Optional ear plugs (birds scream, people snore)
- Toilet paper
- Trash bag: we don't leave anything behind!
