Wandervogel Tours presents: hike into May - Glottern nature reserve
Details
On a fabulous three day trip, we’ll explore the nature reserves around lakes Glottern just north of Norrköping. We take train 3941 at 9:28 (Snälltåget) from Stockholm C to Norrköping and later (11:20) bus number 12 to Torshag bus stop (Östgötatrafiken).
From there we’ll follow trails into Glotternskogens nature reserve around lakes Nedre and Övre Glottern. There will be a significant share of off-trail hiking necessary. First camp will be close to Övre Glottern presumably. The next day we follow that lake around it’s northern shores and take us towards Bärsjöskogen nature reserve and back up to Lilla Älgsjö, where we will spend the second night. The last day we take us through the forests to Kolmården train station.
There’s a train at 14:50 (Mälartåget 236) back to Stockholm that we’re trying to catch.
In total we will hike about 45km, that’s 10 on the first and the last, and 15 on the second day. You should have some experience camping outdoors and hiking with a backpack carrying all gear and food necessary. I’d like to ask you to be as considerate to nature as possible at this event. This means, we want to leave minimal impact. Leave electronic gadgets and devices at home as much as possible, focus on the very essential. Try to share gear (tent, kitchen, pots etc) and keep it to a minimum in general. While I understand the social character of an event like this, I’d like to ask participants to be quiet while hiking through the forests. That’s how you get the best chances to see animals, we’ll try to be as aware about our surroundings as we possibly can to not miss any traces of animals or rare plants and flowers.
