Sunny autumn colors on Kärsön with hiking & BBQ dinner
Details
Let's go to the easily accessable Kärsön with autumn colors in sunny weather, enjoy some hiking, foraging or whatever you like, and then have a nice BBQ dinner by a shelter near the water!
Getting there and meeting up:
Brostugan bus stop on Kärsön is only 3 minutes from Brommaplan:
SL-link (please go back towards the water, pass under the road towards Brostugan, and then past the bus stop on the south side of the road).
We can meet up by the start of the gravel road, within view from the Brostugan bus stops, here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vrgQ9cjF1y3jTEU29
Or meet up by the shelter, when it suits you, located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/btdkr8peja9GUNsb7

Plan
After an easy 30 min hike (1.75 km) to the shelter & fireplace by the water, we can arrange a fire, have some lunch and hear what everyone is most interested in. Perhaps splitting into smaller groups that may want to do: a shorter hike to the top of Högholmen, hike around all of Kärsön, going for foraging stuff (mushrooms? berries?) in the forest, training at splitting wood & starting a fire, doing some light bushcrafting like making BBQ tongs, utensils, a small table or perhaps prepare some kind of Swedish torch, or doing something else you feel like?
Dinner
We can reassemble around 17:00 at the shelter, where we can prepare and have a nice dinner around the fire, perhaps improved with some foraged stuff. Might look a bit like this (scroll down), although the Kärsön fireplace isn't quite as nice: https://greger.smugmug.com/250920-Karlslund/n-chDrd6
Bring:
Clothes for the weather (and not too nice for some smoke from the fire), water, food & drink for lunch & dinner with plate, mug & utensils. Plus perhaps some fika or extra energy source. Some warmer clothes for sitting down in the cool evening (long johns, hats & gloves can be nice). Bring a (head?)lamp, it will become dark away from the fire and the LED string lights. Things like a sit pad, paper bag/mushroom basket, small container for berries, knife, sugar, butter/oil & salt, mosquito repellent, may come in handy(?)
Since the place is so easily accessable, we can bring extra stuff that's tasty, fun and/or improves comfort.
Extra contributions?
The organizer will bring a kind of BBQ grid, lines & LED string lights, some wood working tools like saws, axes, knifes, bit and brace drill, etc. with some wood material from outside (not allowed to take dead wood in the nature reserve, except the provided fire wood).
No fee, but perhaps you would like to make some kind of contribution to the event? For instance mushroom expertise, mushroom book, old school coffee pot for use over the fire, some snacks or marshmallows for the group, small appetizer/starter, a mini dessert, arriving early to help the organizer set up some lines for LED:s, or something else?
