What we’re about
Stillpoint Spaces London, and is for all people who are interested in the psychology of society, culture, and the arts. We understand "psychoanalysis" in its widest inclusive sense, from honouring (and challenging) its roots in Freud and Jung to its most cutting edge developments today. We are dogmatically undogmatic and inclusive of all therapeutic perspectives that work at psychological depth.
We acknowledge that humans are meaning-making beings, and we look to the world of psychotherapy to help us understand how we come to these meanings.
But why "Psychoanalysis"? Because at its root, psychoanalysis has always been about meaning-making, and its founding principles were at the same time human and subversive. We recognise it's a provocative word, yet we choose it to reclaim it - not for psychoanalysts and not for academics - but for everyone.
We're taking psychoanalysis and its related disciplines out of the consulting rooms and institutions to the streets. Our hope is to provide people from all walks of life with an opportunity to engage with the exciting insights of depth psychology. The purpose of POTS is to dialogue, share, embody, experience and explore how psychoanalysis and psychotherapy - it their broadest senses - can be used to better understand ourselves and each other in the context of everyday contemporary life.
