Bus Bench Painting and BBQ
Details
There are over 4000 bus stops in St. Louis which don't have any seating. The St. Louis Urbanists are working to fix this by building DIY benches and deploying them at high-ridership bus stops. Over the last year, we have deployed 20 benches at local bus stops.
On October 6th, we are planning to massively scale up our bench building operations, by building and deploying 30 new benches in a single day! We will provide wood, cinderblocks, and painting supplies, and we need your help in painting it all!
We'll be grilling up free food and drinks for everybody who shows up, including burgers and vegan options. Please RSVP so we can have a better idea of how much food to bring.
In addition to painting, we would gladly appreciate assistance with bench deployment (access to a car/truck or power tools), bench building (donating spare paint, wood, food for the BBQ), and any monetary assistance. Please send us an email at stlurbanist@gmail.com or join the Discord server if you're interested in helping with these.
If you can't make it to the Bench Painting and BBQ but are interested in learning more about the St. Louis Urbanist community, stop by at one of our other Meetup events - we run about 4-6 social events every month. We also have a Discord server with over 900 members.
See you on October 6th!
