3 Group Rules
i) No solicitation - We are not here to sell anything or sell any expensive courses and expect likewise for the meetup attendees/community. Please do not come to meetup and sell your MLM products etc, pull people into another meetup or preach any religion etc.

ii) No disrespect - The network is made up of investors and traders with different beliefs and level of skill. You can disagree with certain ideas but please no rude or personal attack.

iii) No gurus/complete newbies - 
If you are not Warren Buffett, please be humble. If you know nothing about stocks, ETFs, please be self-reliant and do some basic read up online, play around with stock hero app etc before joining the meetups. Thank you!!

Background of vision & mission.
Investing or trading is a journey and not a race. It's more of a lifelong journey to attain your financial goals rather than a race to get rich quick.

Therefore, the idea of Stock Meet is to build a lifelong community of investors and traders so that we help each other grow in terms of financially and continuous learning. In short, let's learn together & make money together.

Also, it is equally as important to have a healthy environment for the community to thrive. You are the average of your five friends. If the community is made out of people who are sceptical of investing or naysayers who are constantly trying to put others down then this community is toxic. Therefore, it is important to bring the right people into this community.

The stock market is created for the purpose to make people richer. Otherwise, why do you think humans invent the stock market?

Not everyone in the world is suitable to be an investor or a trader in the stock market. We're not here to convince the world everyone should learn to invest or trade. The idea here is to help those who wants to help themselves to become a good investor or a good trader.

An investor focus more on the longer term approach while a trader looks more into shorter term approach such as trying to time the market etc.

For newbies, it is recommended to start as an investor by investing into an index such as a S&P500 index which tracks the top 500 companies in the U.S. Most fund managers today can't even beat the returns from an index so these newbies already got a good start. The ability to pick good value stocks like Warren Buffet is an investing skill which would require a more seasoned investor to learn and master.

A trader on the other hand requires an even higher level of technical skillsets, strong emotional control and discipline which not many average people have. Retail traders are competing with professional traders and automated algorithm high frequency trading systems. These professionals and institutions have been around for many years and are highly experienced. What makes retail traders think they have that "casino's edge" when many of them are having their full time jobs outside?

Nevertheless, this community is made up of many experts and newbies with wide range of experience and skillsets. It is an important reminder to be respectful to people with different investment or trading viewpoints. Healthy debates and disagreements on viewpoints are highly encouraged to bring out the diversity of this community but personal attacks will not be tolerated as it destroys the "healthy environment" concept for this community.

Lastly, there would be no solicitation of any kind in this community. Stock meet is made possible with a handful of passionate volunteers wanting to help people invest and trade with a correct mindset and right skillset.

More about this meetup
This meetup is for people who are interested in building up their passive income and achieve true financial freedom from the US stock market. We want to do it via good and honorable means, without excessive and aggressive selling methods. We are not backed by or financed by any MLM companies.

What this meetup aim to do is to share ideas, concepts and opportunities about how to build passive income that can last a lifetime. It will be learning and enlightenment for you who decide to join us. We want to communicate ideas across and allow people to feedback on our ideas.

Another aim of this meetup group is to show skeptics and critics that passive income building is possible. The Singaporean public has been burned by too many fraudulent and dumb schemes that won't work. However, our view is that systems that generate true passive income and financial freedom does exist. You don't need to be an a**hole to do that.

Passive income may not be easy and in fact, it requires a lot of work and dedication. However, with enough education and effort, it can be done. There are many avenues available. For the rich people, passive income is easy since you can invest well and make the money. If you are not well off, you either need to earn your first pot of gold and join the rich people, or you need to work your way up the passive income ladder. Thus, we use the word "Passive Income", because most of us will be in the building stage. You get rich slowly. If you are looking to get rich quickly, this group may not be best.

Important reminders
We don't welcome MLM companies. The reason is that these industries tend to push people away due to their aggressive selling methods. If you are looking to recruit people to join your MLM, please go to other groups. If you still want to join, kindly refrain from pushing your MLM company onto others. We still will welcome you if you are keen to learn, share ideas and contribute to the group.

Events Administration
As far as events are concerned, there will be casual meetups, networking sessions and also more formal events like seminars and conventions. We welcome anyone to start an event. Events suggestions are subject to approval.
