Made for Cooperation: Stoicism for Our Collective Wellbeing
Hosted by Philosophy + Supper Club
Details
‘Whenever you have trouble getting up in the morning, remind yourself that you’ve been made by nature for the purpose of working with others.’ - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
The Stoic philosophers positively focused on active social engagement with an eye toward cooperation with others.
In this meetup, we will be meeting in person and take a deep dive into how humans are made for cooperation. In modern capitalist societies which promote competition, how can we go go against the grain to improve our collective wellbeing?
A couple of short readings will be provided prior to the Meetup. All you need is your open and Stoic-curious mind! I think you'll really enjoy it.
This is an in person event. If you do RSVP, please ensure that you are able to attend and booking rules apply. I look forward to seeing you all there!
