About us
Welcome to Strictly Shoujo! We are essentially a club that mainly delves on, but not limited to, anime and manga for girls.
According to Sakura's original definition, shoujo means "cute girly girls doing cute girly things", but she will not remove otomen out of the picture. In fact, they are very welcome to join us! Together we will analyze shoujo genre and explore what we love about it. We might bake cookies, make our own cosplay or fashion clothing, make Valentine's Day chocolates, sew stuffed animals, make jewelry, dress up, be glamorous, go to anime conventions, draw manga, play a bit of doubutsu shogi, or shop at some handicraft markets, but last but not least, gossip about anime tropes and ship our favorite characters together while enjoying afternoon tea! Basically everything sugar, spice and everything nice. Feel free to join us for the love of maiden heart! 💗
Personally I respect male cross-dressers and admire their courage, but due to complications with using the restroom please do not arrive to the meetup as a full fledged lolita or the like. Something subtle is okay, like a bow hair clip can be super cute. This is not an LGBTQ+ community, so I won't be able to be of service to yaoi or yuri enthusiasts. And as a warning, if you do anything fishy or violate my members or the general public during my meetup, I will report you to the police. For my members, if you were harmed in any way by other members of the group, don't be afraid to speak up. I will try to make the activities as fun as possible, and feel free to give me any suggestions.
🌸 Strictly Shoujo is a safe, inclusive, and respectful space for gentle, artistic people. If your vibe doesn’t match, that’s okay—but this may not be the group for you. We reserve the right to ask people to leave to protect the community experience.
It is also a curated creative community. Join as a newsletter subscriber (from $500 NTD /month) to attend exclusive themed meetups, craft parties, and fashion cafés. I also accept one-time tips. The information can be found on https://sakurasakuramiyoko.carrd.co/ through Paypal.me link with Treat Me a Macaron.

The Origins
Risette/Sakura grew up in the suburbs where everyone else was wearing aesthetically bland but expensive Quiksilver, Vans, Converse shoes, and Jansport bags. What a boring world! She wants to make the world a better and happier place, starting with herself. That's why she has a passion for handicrafts, art, and baking, as they have healing effects on the craftsman.
Another thing is Sakura Sakura Miyoko in Taiwanese means "loafer", and this name amuses her. She dedicates her time to transforming negative labels in society, such as "otaku", "rice bug", "strawberry clan", and "sakura sakura miyoko", and casting them into a positive light. She's bringing these people together so no one would be ashamed for liking anime and feel welcomed.

Shoujo Anime and Manga Group Discussion
zhishan mrt exit 1, 芝山站 exit 1, Taipei, TW👉Law of the Strictly Shoujo Article §72: Some anime start out with a keen observation about life, then unravel into a great story—no wonder we’re drawn to these masterpieces!
Oh, Free! This is an anime disguised as shounen but actually made for girls. Just look at those abs! If it were really just a swimming anime, I’d fall asleep. The reason we love it so much is definitely the character dynamics.
It didn’t take long for us to spot Makoto × Haru from a mile away. But that wasn’t the true canon. The story itself would never have begun—or reached any real consensus—without Rin × Haru.
Remember at the beginning, when Haru has that soliloquy about numbing his own talent? In a way, he sees it as a hindrance, because Rin is so eager to work hard to beat him at swimming—to prove that his effort is worth something. Like the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, Rin openly challenges Haru because he wants it to be about hard work triumphing over talent.
But in real life, a turtle will never beat a rabbit. It’s unfair, and that’s what makes Rin such a tragic character.
Everything is finally resolved when the boys come together as a relay team. Even though they’re disqualified, what truly matters is having fun and being brought together by their shared love of swimming. It was never about the medal!
It’s such an amazing anime that I could watch it again and again, each time extracting new meaning from it.

There's actually a special afternoon tea set, but I opted out because ordering that is quite heavy on my budget, since I'm not inviting more than 5 other people besides myself.
Let's have a happy afternoon tea party talking about plots and tropes, and raving about our favorite characters and whom we ship!
