Thomas Paine on Agrarian Justice

Details
An English born activist and philosopher; Thomas Paine is best remembered for his vital role in encouraging the American colonists to revolt against the authority of the British Crown. He ceaselessly extolled the superiority of American's nascent representative form of government over the ossified absolute monarchies of Europe.
As part of his broader critique of traditional European political institutions, Paine, also argued that the accumulation of landed holdings by a privileged elite had condemned millions of Europeans to a life of abject destitution. In a tract entitled ''Agrarian Justice'', Paine called for the establishment of a common fund to reimburse those citizens who had been deprived for their fair share of nature's riches.
