Hike Moderate Pace on Easy Trails, 6 miles. Meet at Peace Valley Nature Ctr/Visitor Ctr, 170 N. Chapman Rd, Doylestown, PA 18902. The hike leaves at 12:15 pm. For Feb. 1: Due to lingering snow & ice on the roads (and deep snow on some trails), today's Ramble will be a hike/walk on the Peace Valley Park Hike & Bike Trail encircling the pretty reservoir (Lake Galena). The Hike & Bike Trail has been plowed & cleared for easier walking. This is a 6-mile loop around the lake, and is mostly flat.
TREKKING POLES and ICE CLEATS are recommended, due to some icy patches. After the hike, if the group would like, we can stop at a nearby cafe for a hot coffee/cocoa and snack.
START/FINISH: The Nature Center/Visitor Center of Peace Valley Park, at 170 North Chapman Rd. Restrooms inside the Nature Center, and the parking lot (which has a portapotty) is on the opposite side of Chapman. Please note that, in order to park at the Nature Center, you need to access Chapman Rd from New Galena Rd. (The other end of Chapman near Ferry Rd stops at the pedestrian-only bridge crossing the lake/creek. You cannot drive across the bridge.)
GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Usually, avSunday afternoon winter RIDE, for those who have other plans on Sunday morning.
The on-line route map is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53863503. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 12:15 pm.
