About us

Everything around us happens in relationship.
We relate to partners, children, parents, friends, colleagues, strangers — and underneath all of these relationships is the one we have with ourselves.

The Space Between is a place to explore both.

It is about the space between you and another person, but also the space within you: between what you feel and what you say, between what you need and what you allow yourself to ask for, between the person you have learned to be and the person you are becoming.

Many of the ways we relate were shaped long before we consciously chose them. We may withdraw when we want closeness. Please when we want to say no. Become independent when what we really want is support. Stay silent to keep the peace. Chase people who move away, or move away when someone comes too close.
These patterns once had a purpose. Some of them may simply no longer serve us.

The events organised through The Space Between — online and in person — are invitations to notice, understand and gradually change the ways we relate that we no longer want to repeat.

We explore relationships, connection and disconnection, boundaries, attachment, vulnerability, emotional patterns, loneliness, intimacy, conflict, shame, belonging and the relationship we have with ourselves.

Sometimes this happens through a workshop or guided exploration.
Sometimes through movement, embodiment or reflection. Sometimes simply by sitting in a circle and speaking honestly.

We practise something that is surprisingly rare: being present, listening, accepting, witnessing and allowing another person to be exactly where they are.
Because sometimes change begins with finally noticing what is happening inside us while we are relating.
The first step is simply to show up.
