Open House Sunday Afternoon

Happy New Year to all !

The new year is off to a blustery start! The winds of change are stirring up the weather as well as the fabric of our relatedness as a nation. Unfortunately, there is so much anger in the ugly rhetoric being aired to express fiercely divided views. All of this swirl fosters a sense of unrest, lack of trust, and anxiety that is hard to shake.

Where is the hope in the new year? Can we, dare we find contentment in the midst of our collective unrest? The answer we know, but it's worth repeating - and it is worth pursuing. Despite what seems like the heart's pain, the answer is to open the heart more. Throughout all of humanity, over all time, the answer is emphathy, and serving others. The more we have and do, the greater our contentment, the better our world.

Sufism is a school of love, principles and practices designed for this work. It is not for everyone, but for those whose hearts yearn for serving the Truth, want to travel spiritually and feel attracted to the Divine that unites us all. Our small center of the Numatillahi Sufi Order here in Denver welcomes anyone interested in Sufism to come by during our open house on Sunday - or to call and arrange to come by at another time. This will be an opportunity to explore questions through informal conversation, and to look through the various written materials we have containing teachings, poetry and guidance.
