Mellow Hike: Wild Horse Interpretive Nature Trail

Hike Description: Wonderful way to introduce potential members or guests to Sun Lakes Hiking Club. On this wide trail we’re able to walk side-by-side and chat this holiday season. This hike is near the Outlet Stores and Wild Horse Pass Casino. Should you ever opt to include a walk to the casino for a meal or rest stop, it would be a 4.2-mile R/T trip.

The hike/stroll is out and back with occasional sitting spots along the trail. This is the closest nature trail to Sun Lakes. There are no bathrooms at the trailhead nor during the hike. The trail is well groomed and easy walking. Water meanders near the trail which has varied flora and fauna. (Trail markers do not include the entire trail distance.) The trail crosses a paved, not very busy, road three times and you may see some golfers on the nearby course.

Hike leader will have New Hiker Forms, Release from Liability forms and name tags.

Driving Directions:
West (left) on Riggs, north (right) on I-10W, Exit Wild Horse Pass and head west (left). Stay on Wild Horse Pass for 2.1 miles. After the bend in the road, Aji Spa will be on the right. Enter and park towards the back of this parking lot.
