Hieroglyphics Trail is an in/out, up/down trail into Gold Canyon in the Superstition Wilderness. It is an uphill grade that leads you to a boulder-filled canyon with occasional pools of water, and in the spring lots of wildflowers, before arriving at the petroglyphs. These are believed to have been created by the Hohokam Indians as long as 1500 years ago. This is a very rocky trail so polls are recommended.

In addition a short distance will be hiked on the Lost Goldmine trail from the same trailhead.
