Metate to Towhee and Spur Cross trails in the Spur Cross Conservation Area(Cave Creek).
Distance is 4.4 mile round trip with elevation gain of 112 ft.
Lovely partially shaded trail. Huge saguaros and corn grinding metates. Several stream crossings. Trails are well maintained.
Trailhead has restrooms. There is a $3.00 per hiker entry fee. Cash!
