Hike Title: Lost Dog Wash TH out and back to Sunrise Peak

Trailhead: Lost Dog Wash TH (12601 N. 124th St, Scottsdale)

Description: In and out

Trail is consistently uphill, fairly rocky, poles recommended. At the saddle near the summit (2.7 miles), there is an optional .3 mile trail (340 ft. elevation) that puts you on the top of the Peak. Those not wanting the steeper more rugged final push to the peak, can relax and take a snack break at the saddle. On a clear day you will enjoy watching the famous Fountain Hills water fountain which is active daily on the top of the hour for fifteen minutes. In addition we'll see all the adjoining trails, the surrounding wilderness areas, the Phoenix area cities, and nearby neighborhoods.

Hike Distance: 6 miles (in and out) 5.4 miles to saddle

Trailhead Elevation: 1,755 ft.

AEG: 1,341 ft. to peak approx. 1,000ft. to saddle

MEETUP: 6:45 AM at Cottonwood Flagpole parking lot

DIRECTIONS:
Enter Lost Dogwash Trailhead into GPS. 12601 N. 124th Street

From Cottonwood parking lot go north on E.J.Robson Blvd.

If you have access to north Dobson gate in Oakwood continue through Oakwood to Dobson Rd.

If you do not have access: turn right on Riggs Rd.

Turn left on Alma School Rd.

Turn left at Ocotillo Rd.

Turn right on Dobson Rd.

All cars will continue on Dobson Rd and turn left on Price Rd

Merge onto AZ-101 Loop N

Exit 41 for Shea Blvd.

Turn right on Shea Blvd.

Turn left onto N. 124th St.

At two traffic circles, go straight; TH well marked
